Pregabalin 75 mg and Methylcobalamin 750 mcg Capsules

LAVIGEM-M 750 Capsules is a combination medicine that is used for neuropathic pain associated with spinal cord injury. It also used for treatment of chronic pain, perioperative pain and migraine. Treatment of fibromyalgia.



COMPOSITION

Each hard gelatin capsule contains:
Pregabalin BP …………..75 mg
Methylcobalamin …….…750 mcg
Excipients……………...  q.s
Approved colour used in empty capsule shell

Method of administration: Oral 


DOSAGE

 As directed by the physician. 


SIDE EFFECT

• Dizziness

• Somnolence

• Headache, dry mouth

• Constipation

•    Ataxia, asthenia

•    Edema, blurred vision,

•    Weight gain and thinking abnormal






PRECAUTION

Angioedema

There have been post marketing reports of angioedema in patients during initial and chronic treatment with pregabalin. Specific symptoms included swelling of the face, mouth (tongue, lips, and gums), and neck (throat and larynx). 


Hypersensitivity

There has been hypersensitivity in patients shortly after initiation of treatment with pregabalin. Undesirable effects included skin redness, blisters, hives, rash, dyspnoea, and wheezing. Pregabalin should be discontinued immediately in patients with these symptoms.


Suicidal behaviour and ideation

Antiepileptic drugs (AEDs), including pregabalin, increase the risk of suicidal thoughts or behaviour in patients taking these drugs for any indication.


Ophthalmological Effects

 In controlled studies, a higher proportion of patients treated with pregabalin reported ophthalmological effects like blurred vision, reduction in visual acuity and changes in visual field and fundoscopy.
