CIPROFLOXACIN TABLET USP 500 MG

Ciprofloxacin is a prescription medicine used to treat the symptoms of bacterial infections. Ciprofloxacin may be used alone or with other medications.

Ciprofloxacin belongs to a class of drugs called fluoroquinolones.

It is not known if Ciprofloxacin is safe and effective in children younger than 1 years of age.


COMPOSITION

Each film coated tablet contains:

Ciprofloxacin hydrochloride USP 

Equivalent to Ciprofloxacin……….500mg

Colour: Titanium Dioxide BP

Method of administration: Oral

DOSAGE

Ciprofloxacin should be administered orally as prescribe by the doctor.

SIDE EFFECT

The most commonly reported adverse reactions (ADRs) are nausea and diarrhoea.





PRECAUTION

The use of Ciprofloxacin should be avoided in patients who have experienced serious adverse reactions in the past when using quinolone or fluoroquinolone containing products. Treatment of these patients with Ciprofloxacin should only be initiated in the absence of alternative treatment options and after careful benefit/risk assessment. Ciprofloxacin is not recommended for the treatment of streptococcal infections due to inadequate efficacy.

Ciprofloxacin Tablets are available in Alu-Alu blister of 10 tablets.
