DICLOFENAC SODIUM SUPPOSITORIES 100 MG

Relief of all grades of pain and inflammation in a wide range of conditions, including:

(i) arthritic conditions: rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute gout, 

(ii) acute musculo-skeletal disorders such as periarthritis (for example frozen shoulder), tendinitis, tenosynovitis, bursitis,

(iii) other painful conditions resulting from trauma, including fracture, low back pain, sprains, strains, dislocations, orthopaedic, dental and other minor surgery.


COMPOSITION

Each suppository contains:

Diclofenac Sodium BP 100mg

Suppository base QS

This medicine is for rectal use only.

DOSAGE

Adults:

One 100mg suppository may be given as a once daily treatment usually at night.

Where necessary, therapy may be combined with tablets up to a total maximum dose of 150mg diclofenac per day.

Elderly:

Although the pharmacokinetics of Diclofenac are not impaired to any clinically relevant extent in elderly patients, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should be used with particular caution in such patients who, generally, are more prone to adverse reactions. In particular, it is recommended that the lowest effective dosage be used in frail, elderly patients or those with a low body weight.

Children (aged 1 - 12 years):

Diclofenac 12.5 mg suppositories only can be used for children.

SIDE EFFECT

Diarrhoea, allergic reactions, nausea, or vomiting may occur.





PRECAUTION

Patients with renal, cardiac or hepatic impairment and the elderly should be kept under surveillance, since the use of NSAIDs may result in deterioration of renal function.




PRESENTATION

5 suppositories of 1.0 gm each are packed in 1 strip of PVC-PE foil, such 2 strips are packed in mono carton along with pack insert. 10 cartons are further packed in outer box.
