METRONIDAZOLE & CLOTRIMAZOLE VAGINAL INSERT


Metronidazole & Clotrimazole Vaginal Insert is indicated for Nonspecific vaginitis, Bacterial vaginosis, Vulvo-vaginal candidiasis, Trichomonal vaginitis, vaginitis of mixed etiology, Dry vaginitis, recurrent vaginitis, infective leucorrhea, Gram positive & Gram negative bacterial infections.



COMPOSITION

Each vaginal inserts contains:
Metronidazole BP ……………… 500 mg
Clotimazole BP……………...100 mg
Excipients …………………Q.s.

DOSAGE

Metronidazole & Clotrimazole Tablet should be inserted in the vaginal as deeply as possible. It should be used for 6 days, preferably on retiring to bed at night. The treatment should not be carried out during menstruation.


SIDE EFFECT
Vaginal burning, erythema, irritation & burning may rarely occur.



PRECAUTION
Metronidazole & Clotrimazole Vaginal Insert should not be used if the patient has any of the following symptoms whereupon medical advice should be sought:
- Irregular vaginal bleeding.
- Abnormal vaginal bleeding or a blood-stained discharge.
- Vulval or vaginal ulcers, blisters or sores.
- Lower abdominal pain or dysuria.
- Any adverse events such as redness, irritation or swelling associated with the treatment.
- Fever or chills.
- Nausea or vomiting.
- Diarrhea.
- foul smelling vaginal discharge.
