AMOXICILLIN CAPSULES 250MG / 500MG
AMOXICILLIN SUSPENSION 125MG/5 ML & 250MG/5ML

Amoxicillin is a penicillin antibiotic that fights bacteria. Amoxicillin is used to treat many different types of infection caused by bacteria, such as tonsillitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, gonorrhea and infections of the ear, nose, throat, skin or urinary tract.

COMPOSITION (CAPSULE)

Each hard gelatin capsule contains:
Amoxicillin Trihydrate BP
Equivalent to Amoxicillin … 250 mg / 500 mg


COMPOSITION (SUSPENSION)

Each 5 ml reconstituted Suspension contains:
Amoxicillin Trihydrate BP
Equivalent to Amoxicillin … 125 mg / 250 mg


DOSAGE

Adults:

ENT, genitourinary, or skin: 250mg every 8hrs. Severe, less susceptible, or lower respiratory infections: 500mg every 8hrs.
Renal impairment: glomerular filtration rate (GFR) 10–30mL/min: 250mg or 500mg every 12hrs; GFR ≤10mL/min or hemodialysis: 250mg or 500mg every 24hrs.

Childrens:

≥40kg: as adult. ≤3 months: max 30mg/kg per day in 2 divided doses every 12hrs. >3 months (≤40kg): ENT, genitourinary, skin: 20mg/kg per day in 3 divided doses every 8hrs. Severe, less susceptible, or lower respiratory infections: 40mg/kg per day in 3 divided doses every 8hrs.

SIDE EFFECT
GI upset, hypersensitivity reactions (eg, urticaria, rash, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, anaphylaxis), hyperactivity, blood dyscrasias.



PRECAUTION
Cephalosporin, imipenem or other allergy: not recommended. Monitor blood, renal, and hepatic function in long-term use.

Labor & delivery. Pregnancy (Cat.B). Nursing mothers.
PRESENTATION
Amoxicillin Capsule is available in blister pack of 10 capsules.

Amoxicillin Powder for Oral Suspension are available in 60 ml & 100 ml bottle.
